Lately, there has been a lot of attention paid to First Nations people’s mental health, and the Mental Health and Addictions subcommittee plays an integral role in Alberta to the delivery of those programs. First Nations people’s mental health is important to better health outcomes, and the Mental Health and Addictions subcommittee ensures service excellence in Alberta.

Other program that the Mental Health and Addictions subcommittee have taken on are the Indian Residential School (IRS) program and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) mental health supports funding.
