About the NIHB Program

Posted

The Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program is a national program that provides coverage to registered First Nations and recognized Inuit to support them in reaching an overall health status that is comparable with other Canadians. The NIHB Program provides coverage for a limited range of medically necessary goods and services to which these clients are not entitled through other plans and programs. In cases where a benefit is covered under another plan, the NIHB Program will act to coordinate payment of eligible benefits.
