Health Awareness

The First Nations that live on reserve in Alberta can live in far and remote locations. Connecting and communicating effectively with people about personal health and healthy lifestyles can be a challenge. We work to meet people where they are and provide them information in mediums that make sense for them.

Prorities

Drug utilization Prevention & Promotion

Drug misuse is something that we are trying to fight by engaging communities and working with 5 pilot communities.

Safety and injury prevention

Most common accidents on-reserve can be prevented through education and awareness raising with key partners.

Decreasing the rate of teen pregnancies

By educating and encouraging young people to act responsibly to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

Chronic disease management & Prevention

We aim to have better ways to help residents prevent chronic diseases and to manage them when chronic diseases occur.
